WE EXIST: THE FEMALE HORROR DIRECTORS OF 2014

I found this great article on female horror directors of 2014 , the most high profile film The Babadook took my intrigue a while back and I have JUST NOW finally been able to see it. I will write a review of it later for you all 🙂

If you are a fan of horror, or wish to find more female directors, give this article a read and check the films out, as i will be too and i’ve decided not to be swayed by the films rating on IMDB….

Here is an expert:

This year, female filmmakers like Australian newcomer Jennifer Kent and Belgian director HĂ©lène Cattet took us inside the tortured headspaces of their films’ haunted protagonists. Their exceptional horror movies—“The Babadook” and “The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears” (which Cattet co-directed)—examine personal grief, familial trauma and sexual anxiety in new and compelling ways. These films are, in a sense, ghost stories about women who cling to their pasts, but can no longer hide within.
